Customized Sports Guard:
The custom mouthguard is made of thermoplastic polymer and fabricated over a model of the athlete’s dentition. The mouthguard is made by the dental Professional fits exactly to the athlete’s mouth. The advantages include fit, ease of speech, comfort and retention.
Playsafe is a triple layer laminated professional sports mouthguard available in 26 different colors, which is soft on the inside and outside while hard in between. It shows the Playsafe triple logo and upon request, can also bear the name of the athlete.
Boil & Bite mouthguards fit poorly and become loose. The athlete has to hold this mouthguard onto the teeth, this prevents him from producing outstanding performances.
Many scientific studies show that a Boil & Bite mouthguard provides a false sense of protection due to the dramatic decrease in thickness when the athlete bites it into place during its softened state (biting through).
It’s a worth investment for every sportsperson.
Impact Absorption/Shock Absorption: Custom sports guards are designed to absorb and distribute the force of impact when a player experiences a blow to the face or mouth. This reduces the risk of dental and facial injuries, including broken teeth, jaw fractures, and soft tissue damage.
Protection for Teeth/Dental Injury Prevention: Custom sports guards are moulded to fit an individual athlete's teeth and jaws precisely. This snug fit ensures that the teeth are shielded from direct impact during contact sports, preventing chipped, cracked, or knocked-out teeth.
Preventing Jaw Injuries/Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Protection: A well-fitted sports guard can also provide protection to the TMJ, the joint connecting the jawbone to the skull. By cushioning the impact, it reduces the risk of jaw fractures and TMJ dislocation.
Facial Injury Prevention/Soft Tissue Protection: Beyond teeth and jaws, sports guards also help protect the soft tissues of the face, including the lips, cheeks, and tongue. This can prevent cuts, bruises, and lacerations.
Preventing Concussions/Potential Impact on Concussions: While primarily designed for dental and facial protection, sports guards can also reduce the risk of concussions by absorbing some of the shock from a blow to the head. However, they are not a substitute for dedicated concussion-prevention equipment.By wearing a protective mouthguard, the incidence of a concussion by a blow to the jaw is significantly reduced because the condyle is separated from the base of the skull by placing the mandible in a forward position
Hygiene/Easy to Clean: Custom sports guards are easy to clean, reducing the risk of oral infections or odours that can result from poor hygiene of ill-fitting, store-bought mouthguards.
Longevity/Durability: Custom-made sports guards are more durable and resistant to wear and tear than over-the-counter options, ensuring they provide protection over a longer period.
